End Zone Complex Background

Having opened in the summer of 2002, the 43,000-square foot Bobcat Stadium End Zone Complex is the home to Bobcat football and track and field. Inside the complex is a variety of academic and athletic spaces that serve the student-athletes of Texas State.

Highlights of the complex include: the football office suite and locker room; the track and field office suite and locker rooms; a state-of-the art strength and conditioning center; a fully-functional training and rehabilitation complex; conference rooms for team and player meetings; a teaching theater for academic classes and larger meetings, and the sparkling Sac-N-Pac Room for special events and receptions. The Sac-N-Pac Room features a balcony and offers a dynamic game day atmosphere.

Additionally, the football playing surface received a facelift in 2002 with the installation of AstroPlay turf. A new concept in filled turf systems, AstroPlay is a grass-like, non-abrasive, polyethylene fiber matrix filled with special rubber or rubber/sand granules. AstroPlay is carefully engineered to offer the best aspects of natural grass without the inherent drawbacks such as high maintenance, low use levels, game cancellations and uneven footing.

The track was resurfaced in 2002 and features EUROTAN WS, a paved-in-place, structurally sprayed polyurethane surface that is tough and durable.
