Returning to her native San Marcos, Laurie Hindson is finishing her first year as a Student Development Specialist in Texas State's Athletic Academic Center. In the AAC, Hindson is responsible for managing the academics of the volleyball, softball, tennis, and men's and women's golf teams, as well as organizing various award ceremonies. Hindson attended Louisiana State University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. While an undergraduate, she served as an athletic tutor and as an academic coach for the women's basketball team. She graduated from LSU with a bachelor's degree in History in December 2001. Following graduation, Hindson interned with Overland Entertainment in New York City where she helped organize corporate events for such clients as IBM, Pantene, and Allure magazine. She also worked at the GLAAD, James Beard Culinary, and Daytime Emmy Awards. Upon completion of her internship, Hindson returned to LSU where she began her pursuit of a Master's Degree in British History. While studying for her degree, she served as an Academic Advisor for the Honors College. |
