Scott Lazenby begins his sixth year at Texas State University directing the program's athletic compliance department. Last year he was elevated to the position of Assistant Athletics Director.

In his role, Lazenby monitors the department's compliance with all NCAA and Southland Conference rules and regulations, and is a resource to coaches, student-athletes, boosters and those affected or interested in the rules.

Lazenby, who earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees in sports management from Texas A&M, came to Texas State from College Station.

Lazenby worked as a Compliance Assistant at Texas A&M for one year, processing game reports, practice sheets, eligibility reports, participation reports and squad lists. In addition, he assisted the Education Coordinator with rules interpretations and overall compliance education for athletic staff, alumni and students. He also assisted the Monitoring Coordinator with daily responsibilities.

Prior to his work in the compliance office, Lazenby worked for two years in the academic offices of the department of athletics at Texas A&M.

Lazenby worked for two years as a Youth Activities Manager for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, and for three years as a Program Director at the Cypress Creek YMCA in Houston.
