Bobcats Compete at Incarnate Word

Incarnate Word Invitational Men's Results
SAN ANTONIO - Katya Kostetskaya, who is better known for her abilities on the track in middle-distance events, led Texas State's women with a sixth-place individual finish while the Bobcat men placed second as a team at the Incarnate Word Invitational Saturday. Kostetskaya clocked a time of 18:43.3 on the Incarnate Word 5K course as Texas State's women placed fourth with 101 points. Trinity won the women's event with 46 points while Incarnate Word was second with 62 points and Texas-San Antonio was third with 92 points. Kelly Butler also finished among the top 20 finishers in the women's event, clocking a time of 19:38.1 to place 19th. Roel Elizalde placed seventh overall to help lead the Bobcat men to a second-place team finish. Elizalde clocked a time of 26:32.1 on the men's 8K course. Michael Richards also had a top-10 finish for Texas State, placing ninth in a time of 26:41. Trinity won the men's event with 51 points. Texas State was second with 72 points while Prairie View was third with 75 points. Texas State is back in action next Saturday, traveling to the Texas Lutheran Invitational in Seguin.
