Texas State's Whitney Perkins is coming off a fourth-place finish at Texas Lutheran.

SAN MARCOS - Texas State slipped one spot in this week's South Central Regional cross country rankings, dropping to 14th on Monday.

The fall comes despite a second-place finish at the Texas Lutheran Cross Country Invitational held Saturday in Seguin. The Bobcats had two runners place in the top five.

Whiteny Perkins clocked a time of 23:26 to lead Texas State with a fourth-place finish. Heather Bullin was fifth, clocking a time of 23:30.

Two other Bobcats placed in the top 15. Samantha Evola placed 10th in a time of 24:09 while Katya Kostetskaya was 15th, posting a time of 24:39.

Texas State's men were led by Mike Richards who placed seventh in a time of 27:41. Richards helped lead the Bobcats to a second-place finish behind Prairie View A&M which had four runners place in the top 10.

Also posting a top-10 performance for the Bobcats was Jonathan Hernandez who placed 10th in a time of 28:11.

Texas State returns to action Oct. 27th when both teams compete at the Southland Conference Championship in Corpus Christi.
