- Texas State University basketball coach Doug Davalos added three members slated to see the court next season, signing guards from Killeen, Mesquite and San Antonio. The prep team ballers will join the 2009-2010 roster for Bobcat basketball.

"The thing in common with all of our signee's is that they are the best players off of winning programs." Davalos stated. "Tre, Roshun, and John are all very athletic, versatile, and competitive guards that will flourish in our up-tempo system at Texas State. We have achieved our goal for the second consecutive year of adding very talented young men with outstanding character."

Tre Nichols, Point Guard, Killeen, Texas (Killeen High School)

"Tre is an explosive, athletic floor leader that has a nice balance as a scorer and passer. He can also be an excellent ball-hawk defender, which is a critical element of our full court pressure defense." - Doug Davalos

John Bowman, Guard, 6-4, 195, Mesquite, Texas (Mesquite Horn High School)

"John is a very strong, athletic guard who can hit the open three-pointer and explodes to the basket on drives. He is also a physical defender and powerful rebounder." Doug Davalos

Roshun Jackson, Guard, 6-6, San Antonio, Texas (Madison High School)

Helped the 2006-2007 Maverick basketball team to their first ever state tournament with a 36-4 team record...earned a starting role his junior season, averaging 12 points and three rebounds...named to the first team All-District squad...made his first appearance on varsity his sophomore season...helped the team win their first district title in over 20 years...finished the season with a 32-5 record, earning Madison High the number one slot in the region.
