Moved from tight end to fullback during the spring ... the way he was used as a tight end in 2004 is very similar to his assignment at the fullback position ... last year the Bobcats moved him off the line and put him in motion, and in essence drew blocking assignments similar to a fullback ... rejoined the program in 2004 after sitting out the 2003 season as the previous coaching staff's spread offense did not utilize tight ends or fullbacks ... is a big and strong player ... very intelligent player who along with fellow tight end Randy Moshier would last year communicate with the coaching staff what was happening on the field and the `Cats would adjust their blocking schemes accordingly ... one of the football squad's two representatives on the S-A Advisory Council.

2004: Rejoined the Texas State program in 2004 and started five games while seeing significant playing time at the tight end position ... playing time significantly involved blocking in the Bobcats' system ... had one reception for one yard during the year.

2002: Made the move from offense to defensive line as a sophomore ... was in on four total tackles - two solo stops and four assists ... one tackle was for lost yards ... red-shirted his first season at Texas State in 2001.

Denton High School: Earned a pair of letters for Coach Gary Fischer at Denton High School ... voted First-Team All-District 9-4A as a senior and was second-team all-area ... played both on the offensive and defensive lines ... was named a team captain.

Personal: Born June 15, 1983 in Denton ... son of Jack and Barbara Bomar and Patti and Mike Walker ... graduated last spring with a degree in health and fitness management and a minor in business administration ... also recruited by Oklahoma State, Stephen F. Austin and Sam Houston State.
