Received a medical red-shirt after a knee injury in the Bobcats' 2006 season opener against Tarleton State sidelined him for the year ... has great strength and easily the quickest player on the defensive line ... journeyman player for Texas State who has shown a versatility to play a plethora of positions during his career ... originally a walk-on who saw playing time at both fullback and defensive end as a freshman ... defense won the battle to keep him prior to his sophomore season and played exclusively at defensive end ... transitioned to the defensive tackle position prior to the 2006 season and had a great attitude about the move ... only thing questioned was adding weight to play the position and despite carrying the extra weight to hold up in the trenches, has not lost a step of his speed or quickness.

2006: Started Texas State's season opener against Tarleton State at defensive tackle and had two assisted tackles, including one for lost yardage before knee injury ... during the off season was granted a medical red-shirt which gives him two years of eligibility.

2005: Credited with 18 total tackles as a sophomore ... had four solo stops and 14 assists ... also had three tackles for lost yards, including a quarterback sack ... had four tackles and forced a fumble against Southern Utah ... registered a season-high five tackles, all assisted stops in the Bobcats' win over Panhandle State ... finished with two tackles and had a quarterback hurry as Texas State secured a share of its first Southland Conference championship in an overtime win over Sam Houston State ... began the Bobcats' NCAA playoff run with a three-tackle performance against Georgia Southern.

2004: Credited with one tackle, a solo stop in the Bobcats' win at McNeese State ... also recovered a fumble in the game ... had three carries for 26 yards during the season from the fullback position ... had two carries for 26 yards, including a 24-yard touchdown run against NCAA Division I-A Florida Atlantic ... also had a carry for no gain against McNeese State.

Waller High School: Played at defensive end where he was a three-time All-District 18-4A selection ... also played some at fullback ... high school squad captured a district title and were area champs senior year ... high school coach was Jim Phillips ... also a member of the District 18-4A champion 4x100 meter relay team which qualified for regionals.

Personal: Born June 5, 1985 in Monrovia, Liberia ... son of Esther Jackson ... exercise and sports science major.
