2006: After missing part of his freshman season with a hand injury, played in all 11 games for the Bobcats as a sophomore ... registered 17 tackles during the season including 6.5 tackles for lost yards ... tied for fourth in the Southland Conference with 3.5 quarterback sacks ... also had two quarterback hurries and broke up a pass ... was also ninth in the league in tackles for lost yards ... lone tackle at Kentucky was a quarterback sack for a 12-yard loss ... had a season-high three tackles at Southern Utah including a sack for a loss of 10 yards ... also had three tackles in road win at McNeese State ... registered third sack of the season at Northwestern State ... along with two tackles against Nicholls State, had a fumble recovery and broke up a pass ... credited with a half sack against Texas Southern, the only one during the season which came in a home game.
2005: Came in as a true freshman and played right away for the Bobcats ... recorded 14 total tackles (five solo stops and nine assists), had two tackles for lost yards, was in on a quarterback sack and recovered a fumble during Texas State's first seven games ... recorded two tackles in each of the Bobcats' first three games ... was in on tackles for lost yards against both Delta State and Southern Utah ... recovered a fumble against Southern Utah ... got his lone start of the year at defensive end against South Dakota State and responded with a career-high four tackles, including a quarterback sack ... had three tackles the following week against Southeastern Louisiana ... sidelined the final four games of the regular season and the Bobcats' run through the Southland Conference playoffs by a hand injury.
Rice Consolidated High School: Named the Class 3A Defensive Player of the Year as well as first-team all-state by The Associated Press and the Texas Sports Writers Association ... was a unanimous selection as the District 20-3A Player of the Year ... first-team All-Greater Houston as well as first-team All-Tri-County ... also selected the Defensive Player of the Year as selected by the Banner Press ... tallied 108 tackles, including 57 solo stops ... also broke up seven passes, caused 10 and recovered two fumbles ... member of three straight District 20-3A championship teams ... high school team was bi-district champs both sophomore and junior seasons ...squad also captured area and regional titles junior year ... high school coach was Brad Dumont ... also threw the discus for Rice's track team ... as a junior placed third at the Class 3A state meet.
