Physically, very talented, but football wise he is still young ... has been a victim of having four seniors in the past two seasons playing ahead of him ... has never had to prove himself but things changed when spring rolled around ... took him a little while to figure out what was going on as he was given more reps and more pressure was placed on his shoulders ... took him most of the spring to realize it was his time to shine ... has registered 13 tackles each of the past two seasons while playing primarily in a special teams role ... will vie for playing time and a starting spot at mike linebacker this fall.
2006: Registered 13 tackles, including an assisted stop for lost yardage as a sophomore ... tackle for loss came at Kentucky, resulting in a four-yard loss ... had three multi-tackle games ... had two solo tackles in road game at Southern Utah ... registered a season-high four tackles against Southeastern Louisiana ... in addition to three tackles, forced a fumble against Nicholls State.
2005: Registered 13 total tackles as a red-shirt freshman ... had four solo hits and nine assists ... had a season-high three tackles early in the season against Southern Utah ... had two tackles in three different games during the year, including the Southland Conference title-clinching win over Sam Houston State as well as against Northern Iowa.
Stony Point High School: Three-time All-District 24-5A selection ... one of the top 15 backs in Texas out of high school ... named prep team's offensive MVP at running back ... rushed for 1,600 yards and caught nine passes for 72 yards as a senior ... also scored 10 touchdowns ... defensively, was in on 40 tackles and had three quarterback sacks ... coached by Ronnie James ... also an all-district selection in track.
