Originally walked on to the Texas State program ... has become a vocal leader on the squad ... is the player that will try to get the team up when things are going south ... has tremendous character ... probably the team's best route runner ... not a big-frame player but holds his own blocking ... entering his junior season has caught 12 passes for 230 yards and one touchdown ... tops the depth chart at one of the wide receiver positions.
2006: Had 11 receptions for 188 yards as a sophomore ... had multiple reception games in the Bobcats' first three outings of the season ... caught a pair of passes for 52 yards, including a season-high 47-yarder at Kentucky ... the following week had two catches for 43 yards against Northern Colorado ... also had two receptions for 46 yards later in the year against Southeastern Louisiana.
2005: Walk-on moved to the dress-out squad in October ... first career reception came in Texas State's NCAA I-AA playoff game against Northern Iowa ... hauled in a 42-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter to cut a UNI lead to 20-14 early in the second quarter.
Klein High School: Played three years, lettering one for Klein High School ... caught six passes for 100 yards ... also carried the ball five times for 40 yards ... also a member of Klein's 4 x 200 and 4 x 400 meter relay teams ... had a personal record of 48.5 in the 400 meters ... member of 4 x 200 regional qualifying team.
Personal: Born July 28, 1986 in Houston ... son of Mary and Stacey Thomas ... cousin of former Texas Longhorn and current Tennessee Titan Sloan Thomas ... is majoring in exercise and sports science while minoring in business.
