Gainesville, Fla. - - The Texas State women's golf team finished in second place at the Gainesville Shootout III after the Bobcats finished the tournament with a three-round 918 team score on the Par 70, 5,907-yard University of Florida's Mark Bostick Golf Course.

Linn Gustafsson and Caitlin Bliss led Texas State after they both finished in a four-way tie for sixth place with a three-round total of 9-over-par 225. Gustafsson and Bliss finished in a tie with Nicole Schachner of Florida and Sara Larsson of Louisiana-Monroe.

Trine Mortensen finished in a tie for 17th pace after she finished the tournament with a score of 231. Sehee Kim had a score of 237 and Adin Stromgren posted a score of 244.

The individual champion was Alex Rankin, who won the tournament with a 1-over-par score of 217 in the three rounds after she fired a 5-over-par 77 in the third round. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's Ashley Olynick was the individual runner-up with a score of 220.

Raquel Hopton of Illinois finished in third place and led the Illini to the team championship with a team score of 916, two shots ahead of the Bobcats. Angela Drane of Louisiana-Monroe finished in fourth place with a three-round score of 223.

Michigan finished in third place as a team with a team score of 920. Lindsay Davis, who finished with the fifth best score of 224, led the Wolverines.
