SAN MARCOS, Texas - Danielle Holloway, a freshman forward for Texas State Soccer, was named as Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Holloway comes to Texas State from Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Holloway helped the Bobcats to begin the season with two wins on the road at the Miner's Classic in El Paso, Texas.
In her first two career starts, the forward scored four goals on five total shots and also collected an assist.
Holloway was the sole Bobcat to score in regulation against UTEP, the 'Cats first game of the season ended up in overtime with Texas State winning 3-2.
In the 'Cats match-up with Texas Southern, Holloway scored back-to-back goals during the first 10 minutes of play. Texas State went on to win 13-0.
At Sandia High School in Albuquerque, Holloway helped lead her team to two District Championships in 2001 and 2003. IN 2001, 2002, and 2003 Holloway was named to First-Team All-District, First-Team All-State, and First-Team All-City.
Danielle and the rest of the Texas State Bobcats will be taking on Loyola-Maryland at Bobcat Soccer Complex, Friday at 7 p.m.
