The Middle Block With Emily Jones - Oct. 1
Oct. 1, 2007
This week has been a roller coaster! We started off the week with an amazing win over TCU! I think it was the best we've played as an entire team all season. We reached a team high hitting percentage that night of .355! Everything seemed to be heading in the right direction. We even got the day off on Wednesday from practice. Then Thursday rolled around. Nobody was happy after practice on Thursday or Friday. Things just seemed different. We didn't practice in our gym all week because of the construction of the new scoreboard (which we're definitely excited about) and it just seemed like no one was really on the same page since TCU. It continued into Saturday's match against UTA. In what should've been one of the best games of the season, we just couldn't pull it together. I can't even explain it. We took one game off of them, and the other three games were close. If we had just stepped up and played like we knew how, it would have been easy to score just a couple more points each game for the win. So long, day off! We shall never meet again. I'm done thinking about the UTA game though. We've got two great games coming up this week. Sam Houston and SFA will be our last set of home games for a while, and hopefully we can come back together as a team and win these games to keep us in good conference standing. Well I'm off to class. It's midterm week so hopefully the stress levels won't be too high in the gym. Luckily, most of my tests were last week so I don't have too much to worry about. Anyway, hope to see you in the stands this week for our comeback! Emily :)
